THE INTERVIEW
by SHAE SENNETT

April 22 2025

Are you forged in fire? Do you want to know what it’s like? Is there anything else after? What is the worst thing that happened? When does the worst thing stop happening? What was your major in college? How many trains did you take to get here? How sad were the people? Did you get any of it on you? Is it cancer? Is it enough to buy pizza? Is it haram? Is it safe to say you hate yourself? Where does the line end? How many lines did it take to get here? When do you get to call it addiction? Did you ever cut to the bone? How old were you when your parents got divorced? Is it a house fire? Is it expensive? Are you close to the dead people in your life? Do you smile before 11 AM? Is it hard to work on the factory farm? Are the screens bad for your eyes? How do chickens sound when their feathers come off? Are we really so different? Are you me? Are you forged?
